About the Role

A unique opportunity is now available for an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to join ARYZTA and lead the Quality Assurance function at our bakery manufacturing site in Glenfield, Auckland.

Reporting to the QA Manager ANZ, the QA Manager NZ will be responsible for leading the site’s quality assurance and food safety programs, ensuring raw materials and finished products consistently meet ARYZTA’s high-quality standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

In this impactful role you will provide leadership to a small team of QA professionals, driving a culture of food safety, quality excellence, and continuous improvement. Working closely with cross-functional teams on site you will support operational performance, product integrity, and overall business success.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and direct in-plant quality assurance programs to ensure that raw materials and finished products conform to ARZYTA quality specifications, standards and customer expectations. Reviews progress with QA Manager ANZ, and Site leadership regularly.
• Provide ongoing training and development of all employees concerning product quality, customer satisfaction and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Champion and embed ARYZTA’s food safety culture by driving, coordinating, and continuously improving onsite food safety initiatives.
• Conduct product shelf-life, product evaluation and laboratory tests on an ongoing or as needed basis; record and distribute all test results in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure the Vendor Assurance program is adhered to across the bakery.
• Conduct ongoing product research to identify areas of improvement for process control.
• Ensure compliance to the process of new and existing products from concept to launch.

About You

We are looking for a hands-on QA leader who is passionate about delivering quality solutions, is action oriented and has the ability to develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will bring

• 4+ years of QA leadership experience in an FMCG/ food manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Relevant qualification in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry or Microbiology.
• Proven experience in leading, supporting, mentoring, and developing a high performing team.
• Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems, HACCP, Internal Auditing, Food Safety Legislation.
• A customer focused mindset.
• Ability to communicate with confidence and influence.
• Great time management, organizational abilities and a high level of attention to detail.
• Proficient skills in the MS Office suite.
