Remote
Help a senior leader stay focused on the work that matters most
Great executive support creates space for better decisions, stronger leadership and meaningful progress. This role will provide trusted support to the General Manager of Advice Centres, Private and Premium Banking, helping them manage a demanding portfolio with clarity, pace and confidence.
You will be at the centre of a varied and highly connected environment. From managing priorities and coordinating key meetings to keeping information moving and anticipating what is needed next, your work will help the General Manager and their leadership team deliver for customers and people across New Zealand.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Personal Assistant who enjoys being close to the action, building trusted relationships and bringing order to complexity.
About The Team
Personal Banking is one of ASB’s largest and most customer-connected areas, bringing together teams that support customers through everyday banking, home ownership, specialist advice and important financial decisions. Advice Centres provide face-to-face banking support in communities across New Zealand, while Private Banking delivers highly personalised support through dedicated relationship teams. Premium Banking gives eligible customers priority access to experienced specialists across areas such as lending, KiwiSaver, investments and insurance.
The General Manager’s portfolio spans Advice Centres, Private Banking and Premium Banking, connecting a significant frontline network with specialist services for customers whose needs range from everyday banking through to complex financial goals. It is a broad, fast-moving environment where customer outcomes, sound risk management and strong leadership all matter.
About The Role
As Personal Assistant to the General Manager, you will provide proactive administrative, coordination and communication support that enables the General Manager and wider leadership team to operate effectively.
You will manage priorities, schedules and commitments, coordinate meetings and team activities, prepare high-quality information and maintain strong connections across a wide stakeholder network. Just as importantly, you will anticipate needs, identify issues early and apply sound judgement about what requires attention.
The role exists to create an organised and well-connected working environment, allowing the General Manager to focus their time where it will have the greatest impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a busy and changing diary, balancing immediate priorities with longer-term commitments.
- Organise meetings, events, leadership activities and team sessions, including agendas, supporting material and follow-up actions.
- Coordinate information and requests so the right people have what they need at the right time.
- Prepare, format and distribute communications, presentations and business information to a consistently high standard.
- Act as a trusted first point of contact for stakeholders engaging with the General Manager’s office.
- Build positive working relationships across Personal Banking and the wider organisation.
- Anticipate upcoming needs, identify scheduling or delivery risks and resolve issues before they become barriers.
- Manage enquiries professionally, resolving them directly where appropriate or connecting people with the right person.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records and administrative processes.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with care and discretion.
- Support team events and activities that strengthen connection, collaboration and engagement.
- Identify practical opportunities to simplify administration and improve ways of working.
About You
You are an experienced Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant or senior administrator who understands that great support is about much more than managing a calendar.
You stay calm when priorities shift, think ahead and take ownership without needing to be directed at every step. You are comfortable working with senior leaders, can quickly understand what is important and know when to act, when to ask and when to protect your leader’s time.
You will enjoy this opportunity if you like bringing structure to a busy environment, connecting people and information, and seeing the difference your support makes to the performance of a wider team.
