Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Pavement Marker / Roadmarking Operator to join our Roadmarking team in the Upper South Island.

This is more than just painting lines. You'll play an important role in improving road safety, supporting critical infrastructure projects, and delivering high-quality roadmarking solutions that keep communities moving safely every day.

Based in Christchurch, Nelson, or Blenheim, you'll be responsible for operating specialised roadmarking equipment, delivering maintenance and new works contracts, and helping maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Working alongside a skilled and passionate team, you'll bring your roadmarking expertise to a variety of projects across the region while contributing to the success of one of New Zealand's leading infrastructure providers.

What you'll be doing

  • Operating Type A and Type B roadmarking equipment safely and efficiently
  • Delivering maintenance remarking and new roadmarking works to a high standard
  • Carrying out pre-start inspections and ensuring equipment is well maintained
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of plant servicing and repairs
  • Working collaboratively with crew members to achieve project and production targets
  • Maintaining compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Contributing to a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement

Ngā pūkenga matua | Important Skills

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team, and has a genuine commitment to delivering safe and quality outcomes.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Full Class 2 Driver Licence
  • Minimum 2 years' roadmarking experience operating Type A and/or Type B equipment
  • Strong knowledge of roadmarking practices, equipment and industry standards
  • A proactive and safety-first mindset
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and remain productive under pressure
  • A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Flexibility to work across different projects and locations when required

Highly desirable

  • Level 1 STMS/CAT AB qualification
  • NZQA Roadmarking Operational Certification
  • Experience delivering both maintenance and new works contracts
