The Role

This Senior Financial Accountant position plays a critical leadership role within the finance function. Leading a team of four, you will oversee key financial accounting activities and provide technical expertise across a broad range of balance sheet and treasury-related areas.

The role offers significant variety and scope, with responsibility spanning:

  • Treasury management and cash flow forecasting
  • Investment and loan accounting
  • Reserves and fund accounting
  • Fixed assets and property accounting
  • Capital project accounting and funding oversight
  • Financial reporting and balance sheet integrity
  • Inter-entity transactions and reconciliations
  • Stakeholder support and business partnering across operational teams

You will work closely with property and operational stakeholders, providing financial guidance on major capital projects, funding decisions and long-term asset management. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines technical accounting expertise with team development, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • Proven experience within a large and/or complex organisation
  • Strong technical accounting capability across financial reporting and balance sheet management
  • Experience in areas such as treasury, fixed assets, property accounting, capital projects or complex financial accounting environments would be beneficial
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching and developing team members
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical ability and sound commercial judgement
  • Advanced Excel capability and experience using enterprise financial systems
  • A collaborative, curious and pragmatic approach
