Pay: NZD $250k-350k+

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to provide specialist mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care for patients across inpatient, outpatient, and/or community settings. This role will suit a clinician who is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care and enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support people through complex mental health needs.

Role Overview

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental state examinations, risk assessments, and clinical formulation.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the needs of each patient.
• Provide treatment across a range of mental health conditions, including pharmacological, psychological, and psychosocial interventions.
• Manage a clinical caseload across inpatient, outpatient, and/or community mental health settings, depending on service requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to collaborative care planning.
• Provide clinical leadership, advice, and supervision to junior medical staff, registrars, and other healthcare professionals.
• Liaise with primary care providers, NGOs, community agencies, and other services to support coordinated and continuous care.
• Work alongside patients and wh?nau in a way that is respectful, culturally responsive, and recovery focused.
• Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
• Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards, including those set by the Medical Council of NZ.
• Engage in continuing professional development, supervision, and appraisal processes.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive, and high-performing clinical environment.
• Support best practice in patient safety, risk management, and clinical decision-making.
