Account Manager

About the role

As an Account Manager, based at CARTERS East Tamaki, you'll manage and grow a portfolio of trade customers across Auckland's residential building sector. Most of your week will be spent out of the office: on site, in front of customers - a mix of medium to large scale Residential builders, contractors and developers, understanding their projects and making sure CARTERS has exactly what they need, when they need it.

Day to day, you'll:

• Manage your own call cycle, visiting sites to identify opportunities and understand upcoming builds
• Proactively develop new business through networking and relationship-building in the local trade community
• Act as the link between customers and our internal teams on stock, delivery timing, and pricing — resolving issues before they become problems
• Manage the sales process for Frame and Truss Manufacturing, from initial estimate through to production
• Build supplier relationships that let you put together complete solutions for customer builds

About you

We're looking for someone who builds genuine trust with customers and backs that up with strong follow-through. You'll likely have:

• A track record in sales or account/relationship management (building or trade industry experience is a plus, not a requirement)
• Strong organisational skills — you can run a busy call cycle and still chase new business
• Confidence identifying and acting on new opportunities in the market
• A collaborative, problem-solving approach when things don't go to plan
