We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care within a supportive general practice environment. This role will suit a GP who enjoys building trusted relationships with patients, wh?nau, and the wider care team while delivering comprehensive, culturally appropriate, and community-focused healthcare.
Role Overview
- Provide comprehensive primary care medical services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, referral, and follow-up care.
- Deliver urgent medical care where required, including assessment, stabilisation, treatment, and appropriate referral.
- Support preventative healthcare, including screening, risk assessment, immunisation, health education, and lifestyle advice.
- Provide ongoing care for patients with chronic, complex, and long-term health conditions.
- Coordinate care with secondary services, community providers, ACC, and other relevant professionals.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, administrative staff, and the wider multidisciplinary practice team.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes, referrals, patient records, and documentation.
- Participate in peer review, clinical audit, continuing medical education, and quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Vocational registration, or eligibility for vocational registration, in General Practice is desirable.
- Fellowship or pathway toward Fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, or equivalent recognised experience.
- Experience providing comprehensive primary care across acute, chronic, preventative, and community-based health needs.
- Strong communication, clinical judgement, interpersonal, and cultural competency skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary general practice team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred, and community-focused care.
