General Practitioner

Tūhoe Te Uru Taumatua

Remote

Tūhoe Medical Centres are seeking a General Practitioner to join our growing primary care network in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

We recognise that many GPs are being asked to manage increasing clinical complexity while carrying growing administrative and operational demands.

Build a better support system around our clinicians and our whānau.

We're investing in workforce capability, clinical support, administration, Health Care Assistants programs and a growing range of wraparound services that help address the factors that sit behind poor health outcomes.

What We Offer

  • Extremely competitive remuneration
  • Clinical peer mentorship and support
  • Strong administrative support
  • Health Care Assistant development program
  • Flexible FTE arrangements
  • Collaborative environment
  • Opportunities to contribute to service improvement and innovation

About The Role

You will be joining a service with a clear long-term vision for community wellness.

Our focus is not simply on treating illness. We are investing in access, prevention, wellness and the conditions that support people to live healthy lives.

Alongside medical care, our wider approach continues to strengthen the support available to whānau through housing, livelihoods, healthy lifestyle initiatives and other wraparound services that contribute to long-term wellbeing.

We understand that a GP cannot be expected to solve every challenge that contributes to poor health outcomes.

Improving health outcomes is the responsibility of the whole system.

Our role is to continue building that system.

Your role is to provide excellent clinical care, develop trusted relationships with whānau, and work alongside a team committed to improving wellbeing across generations.

The Future We Are Building

We believe primary care will always be needed.

People will always need support for injuries, acute illness, everyday health concerns and the unexpected events that touch every community.

At the same time, we are committed to a future where fewer people experience preventable chronic illness, where wellbeing is supported earlier, and where communities are better positioned to live healthy, connected and fulfilling lives.

About You

You will be:

  • Vocationally registered (or eligible for vocational registration) in New Zealand
  • Committed to high-quality, relationship-based care
  • Interested in working collaboratively within a supportive clinical team
  • Looking for a role within an organisation that has a clear sense of purpose and direction

If you're seeking a role where you can focus on practising excellent medicine while being supported by a broader network committed to improving the long-term wellbeing of whānau, we are interested to hear from you.

You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. Please feel free to get in touch for a confidential chat if you would like to know more.
