We're looking for a Financial Crime Compliance Senior Analyst to join our Financial Crime Compliance team and play a key role in protecting ASB from financial crime risk.

Te Tūranga | The role

Reporting to the Financial Crime Compliance Manager, you will provide subject matter expertise across Line 2 escalations, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), Sanctions and Correspondent Banking relationships.

This is a varied role where you'll combine technical expertise, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement and regulatory oversight to help strengthen ASB's financial crime compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and approve complex financial crime escalations.
  • Provide expert advice across PEP, Sanctions and Correspondent Banking matters.
  • Support financial crime risk assessments and regulatory reporting activities.
  • Embed policy, standards and guidance into operational processes.
  • Monitor escalation trends and provide meaningful risk insights.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to strengthen risk management practices.
  • Contribute to a strong culture of compliance and risk awareness.

You'll bring a passion for financial crime risk management, along with the ability to balance technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement.

Ideally, You'll Have

  • Strong knowledge of financial crime compliance, AML/CFT and sanctions risk.
  • Experience working within risk, compliance, financial crime or banking environments.
  • Understanding of banking products, systems and operational processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to influence, challenge and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • A collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
