As Mining Engineer, your objective is to support safe, productive and cost-effective extraction of ore by leading mine planning and design, owning the mine schedules & MOS, and delivering accurate production information. This is achieved by collaborating across departments to understand the input information from geology, geotechnical and mine operations teams.
As part of the Snowy River technical team, the engineer provides expert advice and guidance to team members and line leadership, leads by example and embeds mine engineering principles into planning, analysis and decision-making.
By fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration, the role supports the long-term success of the Snowy River project and contributes to Endura’s broader growth strategy.
Mine Planning
- Produce mineable development and stope designs that optimise productivity, ore recovery, and safety while minimising missing cost and exposure to hazards
- Collaborative effectively with key stakeholders in order to produce mine plans that contain the most up to date information
- Ensure mine plans contain detail and risk mitigation for known hazards identified during the mine planning process
- Maintain the database and catalogue of approved mine plans for maximum data integrity and use by other stakeholders
- Maintain the mine planning process to ensure mine plans are completed in a timely fashion to meet the mine schedule and the needs of operations
Mine Scheduling
- Prepare and issue weekly and 3-month mine schedules that align with production targets, resource availability, and operational constraints
- Monitor actual mining performance against plan; complete compliance-to-plan routines and provide clear commentary on production variances and trends
- Work in accordance with site policies, procedures, and standards while maintaining strong communication with operations and technical services teams. Complete reporting within expected timeframes
- Provide timely technical input and direction to the operations team to support safe, injury-free, and cost-effective ore extraction
- Effectively communicate risks and mitigations to the mine schedule
- Own the reporting of daily performance, ensuring timely delivery of reports
About you
- Strong commitment to Safety & Sustainability.
- Minimum 2 years UG experience with hands on practical component .
- Narrow vein mining experience.
- Team leading experience.
- Strong practical, operational and technical knowledge.
- Data analysis and communication
- Deswik software experience
- Ability to present confidently in public, distilling information into formats easily digestible.
