About The Role
Our client is looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead their Planning and Purchasing team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent. This is an immediate start, with a handover available from the outgoing incumbent.
Reporting to an amazing Supply Chain Manager, you will lead two purchasing specialists and own the largest and most commercially significant category in the business, across a supplier base of approximately 100 spanning food and packaging, both domestic and offshore.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading and developing two purchasing specialists
- End-to-end purchasing across all food and packaging categories
- Supplier relationship management, commercial negotiations, and managing supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery
- Partnering with Marketing to align supply planning with the promotional programme
- Determining optimum stock holding and managing inventory to those levels
- Using SAP and advanced Excel to extract and analyse data to inform purchasing decisions
About You
- Proven purchasing or procurement experience within an FMCG or fast-paced environment
- Experience leading and developing a team
- Experience in demand or inventory planning
- Solid Excel skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Strong stakeholder management, internally across the business and externally across a broad supplier base
- The ability to spin multiple plates without losing accuracy
- SAP experience (desirable)
