We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our team at Timaru Hospital. In this role, you'll help deliver quality food services to patients while supporting the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and dining areas.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities

  • Prepare and portion food for service
  • Assist with vegetable and salad preparation
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Handle waste and linen safely
  • Replenish supplies and dining areas
  • Follow food safety, health and safety, and infection control procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team

  • Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred
  • Physically fit, reliable and hardworking
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible approach with a positive attitude
  • Able to pass a Police Vetting check
