About the Company
A well-established New Zealand manufacturing business with a national footprint, this organisation designs, manufactures and delivers site solutions to customers across the education, construction and infrastructure sectors. It’s a business with genuine scale and a steady pipeline of nationwide project work.
The Role
Reporting to the Procurement Lead, this 12-month fixed-term role will strengthen how the business manages suppliers, purchase orders, pricing and commercial documentation across its manufacturing and project delivery operations. You’ll be the critical link between procurement, estimating, design, manufacturing and site teams, bringing structure to a busy, project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise, issue and follow up purchase orders, resolving discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams
- Coordinate supplier onboarding, chasing compliance and commercial documentation to close gaps
- Contact suppliers directly to obtain current pricing, rate cards and lead times
- Build and maintain consistent, comparable rate card formats across the supplier base
- Keep supplier rates, lead times and costing information current in estimating and project systems
- Manage commercial terms, framework agreements and review or expiry dates
- Support project and operations teams with supplier availability, scheduling and issue resolution
- Identify and implement practical process improvements across the end-to-end procurement cycle
Key Skills & Experience Required
- 2-5 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing or supply coordination
- Demonstrated experience raising and managing purchase orders end-to-end
- Confidence dealing directly with suppliers and subcontractors
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable working with imperfect information in a fast-moving environment
- Competent with spreadsheets, purchasing systems or project costing tools
- Experience in construction, manufacturing or trade services highly regarded
- A practical, roll-up-your-sleeves approach over a purely strategic focus
What’s In It For You
This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one, not a back-office admin function. You’ll work directly with suppliers, project teams and manufacturing leaders, with genuine scope to fix a process that matters to the business. The 12-month fixed-term contract comes with strong potential to move permanent for the right person, alongside a supportive team to build your procurement career.
Benefits
- Onsite parking
- Incentive scheme
- Wellbeing package
- Development and support to build your career
