We're looking for a Vehicle Inspector to join our Palmerston North team in a full-time role.
Already hold your inspector authority? Brilliant, you could hit the ground running. Not qualified yet? If you have solid mechanical experience, the right attitude and meet NZTA's requirements, we're open to helping you take that next step.

What you'll be doing
This is a hands-on role where your knowledge and decisions make a genuine difference.
You'll inspect vehicles, assess their safety and compliance, and give customers clear, professional advice. You'll also work closely with your teammates, share your knowledge and help maintain the high technical standards VINZ is known for.

What you'll bring
Ideally, you'll already hold an NZTA Vehicle Inspector authority.
If you don't, don't rule yourself out. We're also interested in hearing from experienced automotive professionals who have:
- A strong mechanical or vehicle-inspection background
- The ability to meet NZTA's requirements for Vehicle Inspector authority
- Confidence communicating with customers and colleagues
- Good judgement and strong attention to detail
- A professional, safety-first approach
