Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts
- Day Shift: 6:00am – 6:00pm
- Night Shift: 6:00pm – 6:00am
The Opportunity
Ventia is seeking motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join our Transmission Gully team as an Incident Responder / Network Steward.
In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for patrolling the motorway network, responding to incidents and emergencies, assisting road users, and supporting the safe and efficient operation of one of New Zealand's most important transport corridors.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine patrols of the Transmission Gully motorway network.
- Respond to incidents, vehicle breakdowns, and emergency situations.
- Assist with traffic management activities and road closures when required.
- Identify and report hazards, defects, and maintenance issues across the network.
- Work collaboratively with emergency services, contractors, and the wider operations team.
- Maintain accurate records and incident reports.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service to road users.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- A Class 2 Driver Licence (essential).
- STMS Category C qualification (preferred).
- Experience in traffic management, civil construction, emergency response, road maintenance, security, or a similar industry.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- A proactive approach to safety and risk management.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
