Nature Guide - Doubtful Overnight

This is your opportunity to join the Doubtful Sound Overnight crew to deliver one of Aotearoa's most memorable experiences to our guests as the onboard Nature Guide.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about connecting the guest and the experience to join the team for Summer 2026/2027. You will need to have a good knowledge of Fiordland flora and fauna and be prepared to interpret the special features of our back yard rain, hail or shine. You'll need to be a Fiordland Enthusiast who knows how to tell a great story and adjust your delivery to the requirement so the audience.
Working a 7.5 day on 6.5 day off roster provides a unique opportunity to work and play hard in this beautiful part of Southern New Zealand. During your shift you will be based on board the vessel for 7 nights, with your own accommodation and all meals provided. You'll be working and living on the vessel with the rest of the crew including a Launch Master, Chef and a Team Leader.
You'll be comfortable conversing and sharing information to all audiences and have good knowledge of Fiordland flora and fauna. You'll be involved in the loading and unloading of supplies and assisting with outdoor activities such as kayaking, so it's important that you are fit and capable of heavy lifting and enjoy being out on the water.
In this role you will have the privilege to create some real memories and stories to tell your friends whilst experiencing Doubtful Sound in all of its moods.

To be considered for this role you will have all this under your belt:
- Maritime hosting and guiding experience
- Strong communication, a team player who loves interacting with our guests and other crew members, and can problem solve and comfortable with making decisions
