About the role | Ko te kaupapa
With Spring around the corner, we have a busy forward work program and are looking for a Leading Hand to join our Three Waters team. The right candidate will have a good knowledge and understanding of Three Waters networks, experience in pipelaying, backfilling and compaction, working in and around trenches and service connection.
As a Leading Hand, you will play an important role in managing and overseeing a variety of projects, ideally experienced at reading and interpreting plans, communicating effectively and meeting production targets. You must have strong leadership skills and will be able to demonstrate that you have trained and mentored team members in the past. These are essential skills in order to be successful in this position and a leader within our business.
What you’ll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu
- At least 3 years of experience in Three Waters and leading a team
- CCC Authorised Water Installer (desirable)
- Full Class 2 driver licence with WTR endorsement (desirable)
- Experience delivering water renewals, new infrastructure projects, installing PE, PVC, and ductile iron pipelines
- Strong understanding of water reticulation networks and Three Waters infrastructure
- Operating abilities, including 3 tonne to 20 tonne excavators
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, service plans, and specifications
- Proven experience coordinating daily site activities and supporting the Foreman with planning and resource allocation
- Competent working around live Services – water, wastewater, stormwater, gas, power, and comms
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice, with the ability to lead safe work practices
