We are seeking experienced

Processing Supervisor to lead our shift-based process operations crews in the safe and timely achievement of production targets. Reporting to the Processing Superintendent (with strong technical direction from the Senior Metallurgist), you will have operational responsibility for your crew and the running of the plant on shift.

This is a frontline leadership role for someone who leads from the front, sets the standard for safe work, and gets the best out of their team. You will run the plant across crushing, milling, gravity and intensive leach, flotation, concentrate handling, tailings placement and water management while adapting plans to changing conditions to keep the operation running safely and efficiently.

Operational Supervision

  • Supervise daily production activities to ensure targets are met across crushing, milling, precious metal recovery, flotation, tailings placement and water management.
  • Manage the plant operation to produce budgeted gold output without compromising plant integrity or continuity of operations.
  • Adapt plans, schedules and work orders day to day to meet changing conditions at the plant.
  • Ensure reagent and consumable use is in line with budget, and that stores issues are coded to the correct area and activity.

People & Capability

  • Lead, direct and mentor your crew, acting as a technical reference point and ensuring work outputs align with plant targets.
  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained and developed so they are skilled and competent for their allocated duties.
  • Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and manage performance fairly and consistently.
  • Foster a positive, supportive crew environment that promotes safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Communication

  • Inspect and audit work areas and practices for compliance with site policies and procedures.
  • Support incident investigations and the close-out of corrective actions.
  • Maintain clear communication within the crew and with the maintenance, and technical teams.
  • Support commissioning and ramp-up activities as the operation comes online.

Workplace Health & Safety

  • Ensure a Duty of Care is exercised in all aspects of work.
  • Encourage a safety focused culture.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety by ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures in place.
  • Actively participate in a healthy culture by ensuring prompt reporting of all incidents
  • Adhere to safety rules in accordance with the site Health and Safety Management system, statutory requirements, acts and regulations.
  • At all times, ensure protection of the environment through compliance with site procedures.

Job responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience in metalliferous mineral processing, with progression into a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a frontline crew, ideally across a continuous (shift-based) operation.
  • Sound operational judgement and practical problem-solving ability in a fast-paced plant environment.
  • A genuine, demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and the wellbeing of the team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, the requirements of operating under New Zealand mining health, safety and environmental legislation.
