Manager Privacy

Help shape how privacy risk is understood and managed across ASB.

Privacy is evolving rapidly as organisations navigate artificial intelligence, biometrics, data sharing and increasingly complex technology environments. We're looking for an experienced privacy professional who can turn complexity into practical advice and help protect what matters most to our customers.

Reporting to the Privacy Compliance Lead, you'll play an influential role in strengthening ASB's privacy framework, supporting major business and technology initiatives, and helping teams make sound decisions in an evolving regulatory landscape.

Te tūranga | The role

As part of the Compliance team, you will be responsible for managing and uplifting ASB’s compliance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Working across Risk, Legal, Technology, Data and Procurement, you'll provide expert privacy advice on complex initiatives, lead Privacy Impact Assessments, manage privacy issues, support privacy incident and breach management, and help embed strong privacy practices across the organisation.

This is an opportunity to influence business decisions, work on emerging risk areas such as AI and data sharing and contribute to the ongoing maturity of ASB's privacy risk management capability.

We're Looking For Someone With

• Experience in privacy, risk, compliance or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of privacy legislation and privacy risk management practices
• Experience assessing privacy risks, incidents or breaches
• The ability to navigate complex business and technology change
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• A practical, solutions-focused approach and sound judgement
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge constructively
