Eligibility Criteria
This fully financed PhD scholarship is open to both international and domestic students in New Zealand.
Applicants must hold a master’s degree and at least 0.75 EFTS.
Applicants must be submitting their first application to the University of Otago’s doctorate program.
International students must have good academic records that meet university grade norms.
Education
Applicants must have an interest and potential for research.
This scholarship NZ 2025 requires a recommendation from the department chair.
Applicants must be proficient in English or, if necessary, provide an English language score or proficiency letter.
Applicants must also meet English language requirements.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive a tuition fee waiver for 36 months.

Almost all of the Otago international scholarships provide an annual stipend of NZ$33,624 to international students.
