About the role

Our dedicated Kitchen team at our Longford Park Village based in Takanini are looking for a talented and reliable Chef to join them on a part time basis, delivering excellent service to our residents. You will be experienced and reliable, with the ability to work as part of a supportive team.

Shifts available are Saturday and Sunday 11am – 6.30pm = 14 hours week

There is potential to pick up extra shifts in the kitchen area to cover staff leave etc

Key responsibilities will include:

• Ensures meals are prepared to a high quality, in a timely manner, and are presented attractively, in line with the agreed menus.
• Undertakes all food production and preparation for the café, including cabinet foods and a la carte dining options.
• Ensures food preparation is compliant with agreed food cost budget
• Nutritional standards or dietary requirements are always actively addressed in special menu design.

About you

You will appreciate how important this position is in delivering an outstanding service to our residents, you will have excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate in a clear, considerate fashion; and ensuring that the job is done to the highest standards. Other things that will support your application include:

• Commercial kitchen experience
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Food industry qualification preferable
• Excellent food hygiene practices and personal presentation
