Programme Manager - Contract role

Our client is looking to hire a Programme Manager who will lead integrated planning and delivery to oversee all workstreams, ensuring programme intent, governance decisions, workstream plans, risks, issues, dependencies, resourcing, reporting, and delivery activity are coordinated into a coherent end-to-end approach. This will be a Wellington based contract role till June 2027.

Successful candidates will have...

  • Significant experience leading complex programmes or major workstreams in the public sector, or large transformation setting.
  • Strong programme management capability across integrated planning, governance, risk, issue, dependency, change, reporting, assurance, benefits, finance, and resource management.
  • Experience working with senior executives, governance boards, SROs, cross-agency partners, and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality advice, decision papers, reports, and governance material.
  • Strong judgement and delivery discipline, with the ability to work through ambiguity and competing priorities without losing sight of programme outcomes.
  • Collaborative and people-centred leadership style, with the ability to align teams, resolve delivery friction, and support performance under pressure.
