You'll be working on key activities around our critical data elements, such as developing data quality rules, building and maintaining reporting and resolving end-to-end data issues that impact the Credit Risk models and processes. This means you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data, which has a significant impact on our decision-making and risk management.
Our team is all about collaboration and communication, so you'll be working closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide insights that inform business decisions.
The work you do will have a direct impact on ASB's ability to make informed decisions and manage risk, which in turn affects our customers and the wider community in Aotearoa.

As a detail-driven and analytical data expert, here's what you bring to the team:
- Technical business analysis skills—you're skilled at breaking down complex problems into manageable parts and finding creative solutions
- Data interrogation and documentation skills—you're adept at extracting insights from data and communicating them concisely
- Ability to work with stakeholders—you're able to support across all Credit Risk Management teams to implement improved data management and data quality controls.
- Relational databases and SQL skills—you're proficient in using SQL to extract and manipulate data from relational databases. Familiarity with cloud tools like Snowflake or dbt is beneficial.
- Strong data analysis skills—you're skilled at performing high-level and detailed analysis on Critical Data Elements, including lineage, profiling, and data quality rules.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts—you're familiar with the principles of data warehousing and how to apply them in a practical context
- Sound interpersonal skills—you're a team player who can build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Advantageous - experience Data Governance tools and Informatica Data Quality and Enterprise Data Catalogue and familiarity with data governance and data management theory and processes
