Remote

Lead a new manufacturing operation in Pokeno

We're looking for a Production Manager to lead our manufacturing site in Pokeno. This is a site leadership role with the scope to shape how the operation runs, performs and grows.

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you'll own the day-to-day leadership of the plant: safety, production performance, quality, and the development of the team around you. It's a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the floor as much as in the numbers.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Project manage getting the site operations up and running
  • Leading, coaching and developing the production team, and building capability for the future
  • Championing a safety-first culture, including investigations, corrective actions and active team engagement in health and safety
  • Optimising production efficiency, resourcing and service delivery to meet customer demand
  • Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), housekeeping and quality standards
  • Driving continuous improvement to reduce waste, downtime and manufacturing cost
  • Delivering accurate, timely operational reporting

What You'll Bring

  • Solid leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (around five years or more)
  • A track record of lifting team performance through coaching, not just direction
  • Practical experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills
  • Commercial awareness and a high level of personal accountability
  • A genuine, demonstrated commitment to health, safety and wellbeing
  • You will need to be flexible to travel to Christchurch for the first number of weeks for induction and training.

Also Useful, But Not Essential

  • Experience in plastics manufacturing, fabrication or sub-assembly
  • Mechanical or electrical aptitude
  • Project management experience in a growth or start-up environment
  • Forklift (F) endorsement, or willingness to obtain one

What We Offer

  • A site leadership role with real influence over how the operation develops
  • A structured 1–2 month hands-on induction across our existing group sites, so you start with the full picture
  • Ongoing development and leadership growth
  • A supportive, values-driven culture
