Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We're looking for a Transition Manager - Facilities & Asset Management to lead a significant transformation programme within NZ Post. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of facilities management across one of New Zealand's largest and most diverse property portfolios.

Reporting to the National Facilities & Asset Manager, you'll play a critical role in transitioning from a fully outsourced facilities management model to a hybrid approach that combines an in-house facilities management team with outsourced specialist trade services. As the Transition Manager, you'll lead the end-to-end transition programme, ensuring continuity of service while delivering meaningful organisational change.

You'll Be Involved In

  • Developing and delivering the transition strategy, roadmap and governance framework
  • Managing supplier transition, exit activities and knowledge transfer
  • Leading stakeholder engagement, communications and change management initiatives
  • Designing and implementing the future operating model
  • Supporting recruitment and establishment of internal facilities management capability
  • Onboarding new service providers and trade partners
  • Ensuring operational readiness across systems, processes, reporting and KPIs
  • Managing programme risks, budgets, timelines and performance outcomes
  • Driving supplier performance, compliance and continuous improvement
  • Championing health, safety and a high-performance culture

Mōu - About You

You'll be a seasoned transformation leader who thrives in complex environments and knows how to bring people on the journey. Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, you'll be equally confident developing a transition roadmap, managing supplier relationships, influencing senior stakeholders, and rolling up your sleeves to solve challenges as they arise. You'll have a strong track record delivering large-scale change programmes, ideally within facilities, property, asset management, infrastructure, or other operationally complex environments. You'll bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to achieve successful outcomes.

You'll Bring

  • 5+ years' leadership experience in facilities management, property management, asset management or a related field
  • Proven experience leading business transformation, operating model change or service transition programmes
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of an organisation
  • Strong change management capability, including stakeholder engagement, communications planning, organisational readiness and adoption strategies
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and stakeholders through periods of change and uncertainty
  • Experience managing contracts, suppliers and outsourced service arrangements
  • Strong project and programme management expertise
  • Knowledge of asset management principles and facilities management systems
  • Understanding of New Zealand building, health and safety and regulatory requirements
