Our two brands, Shark, and Ninja, have enjoyed unprecedented growth in the past 5 years, driven mainly by the very strong innovation pipeline on both brands. Given this success in our existing markets, Shark Ninja has embarked on a bold plan for growing APAC business, in which ANZ plays a critical role. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Field Sales Manager to join our team.
This role will be based in Auckland.
Position Overview
As our Field Sales Manager, you will spearhead our field sales efforts, leading a dedicated team of Territory Managers in promoting our range of appliances to retailers nationwide. This role demands a unique blend of strategic planning, team leadership, and sales expertise, with a focus on achieving and exceeding our sales targets. A successful candidate needs to be dynamic, agile and solution focused. A self-starter, pragmatic thinker and collaborative team member.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you will get to do:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a national team of field sales staff to achieve sales targets. Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to increase brand presence and market share in the appliance sector.
- Monitor and map field territories to deliver optimum coverage strategy (e.g., Call Cycles are reviewed and updated) with Regular travel with field team (e.g., regional store visits)
- Lead event activations including staffing, fit out and product strategy.
- Lead 3rd party demonstration program.
- Monitor team performance, setting clear objectives and providing regular feedback and coaching to enhance productivity and achieve sales goals.
- Work closely with other departments, including marketing and product development, to ensure sales strategies align with overall business goals and product launches are supported.
- Adapt sales tactics and strategies in response to changing market conditions and emerging opportunities. Encourage and model innovative thinking within the team to overcome challenges and capitalize on sales opportunities.
- Foster strong relationships with retailers, understanding their needs and challenges, and ensuring they receive outstanding support and service gain and maintain a thorough understanding of CRM platforms (e.g., Repsly, Salesforce, etc.) crucial for tracking customer interactions, sales progress, and team performance. Ensure the team is leveraging these tools effectively for optimal sales management and reporting.
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Field Sales Management FMCG or Electrical channel is highly valued.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a sales team towards achieving their goals and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close deals with key retail partners.
- Pragmatic thinker with a strategic approach to sales planning and execution.
- Excellent collaborative skills, able to work effectively across different teams and departments.
- Dynamic and agile, with the ability to adapt to fast-changing environments and work well under pressure.
- Self-starter, motivated to take initiative and drive projects to completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with team members, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of and proficiency with technology, including CRM platforms, sales enablement tools, and data analysis software.
