Programme Manager - Fixed-Term role

Our client is looking to hire a Programme Manager who will be responsible for effective co-ordination of the programme’s projects and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising. It also includes the co-ordination of the new capability for the business to enable effective change and realisation of projected benefits. This will be a 12-month Fixed-Term role based in Wellington

Successful Candidates Will Have

• Minimum of eight years professional experience, at least 5 of which as a senior project manager.
• Demonstrated people management experience in leading high performing teams.
• Proven decision-making experience and leadership demonstrated in co-ordinating and integrating projects.
• Demonstrated ability to see the "big picture" and understand the strategic context of projects.
• Good knowledge of programme and project management methods including MSP and PRINCE2.
• Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
• Proven experience in managing a range of projects.
• Demonstrated ability to understand financial data and information, cost out all options and support recommendations with quantitative data.

Skills Include

• Effective leadership, verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes.
• Sound business case development and approvals skills.
• Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties.
• Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the programme.
• The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
• The ability to think strategically and analytically, and translate ideas and concepts into concrete actions.
