About the Role
We are searching for a Marketing Assistant, Direct to join our team based in head office, Invercargill. This role is perfect for a recent graduate eager to kick-start their career in marketing or communications.
This role supports the development and delivery of member communication activity to improve retention, engagement and growth. It helps ensure SBS members receive timely, accurate and easy-to-understand information about products, services, operational changes and regulatory matters through key customer journeys. It will understand the role different channels play and the importance of understanding member needs.
The position will provide broad exposure to direct marketing and communications, marketing technology, digital channels, compliance, and banking operations.
What you’ll be busy with
- Supporting the development and delivery of member communications across engagement channels. Tasks include writing content, briefing creative teams, managing suppliers and setting up email sends.
- Supporting the delivery of member engagement through in-person channels such as SBS front-line teams, community groups and member events.
- Collaborating across marketing functions for member-related activity such as sponsorship and social media.
- Working with agency partners and service providers to support member communications initiatives.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate record-keeping for all member communications materials.
- Working with internal stakeholders to gather information and confirm communication requirements.
- Assisting with member insights and performance reporting, including reviewing member feedback and channel metrics to identify opportunities.
What you’ll bring
- Marketing/Communications degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise content
- Good attention to detail, including professional proofreading, formatting skills
- Previous experience in customer service, marketing or communication is preferred
