We are looking for an experienced financial crime analyst to join our Customer Verification - AML & Sanctions Team. You will develop and grow your experience in AML/CFT, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and financial crime investigations.
In this role you will:
- Investigate transaction monitoring alerts for suspicious activity and write clear justifications for decision making.
- Write and submit suspicious activity reports and provide recommendations for follow up actions.
- Review international payments for potential Sanctions matches and take appropriate action where necessary.
- Work as a team to maintain important SLAs ensuring Kiwibank remains compliant with AML/CFT and Sanctions legislations.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies, including the NZ Police Financial Intelligence Unit.

- Previous experience working in an AML/CFT, Sanctions, financial crime, compliance, or transaction monitoring role within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of AML/CFT or Sanctions legislations and financial crime typologies.
- Experience preparing Suspicious Activity Reports and managing investigations.
- High attention to detail, excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills.
- The ability to interpret legislative requirements and translate them into practical business processes.
- A continuous improvement mindset and experience contributing to process enhancement initiatives.
- Proven relationship-building skills and the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
