About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
As Manager Actuarial Monitoring and Insight, you will lead a specialist actuarial team responsible for valuation, monitoring and reporting on Scheme experience, funding and pricing advice, and the delivery of meaningful insights that support effective decision-making across ACC. This is a highly influential leadership role where you will oversee complex actuarial activities, provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders, and contribute to keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between through evidence-based analysis, financial risk management and continuous improvement.
This is a permanent role, based in Wellington.
The appointing salary for this role is $189,346 to $245,000, with the expected starting salary dependent on skills and experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.
About you | Mōu
You will bring:
- Fellowship of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries and Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries (UK), Society of Actuaries (USA), or another equivalent internationally recognised professional body.
- Eight or more years' actuarial experience within an insurance company or consulting environment, including General Insurance experience.
- Proven people leadership experience with a track record of coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing professional teams.
- Deep knowledge of actuarial valuation, funding, pricing, insurance practices and financial risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with experience delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and executives.
- Experience in project management and leading complex initiatives.
- Strong relationship management skills and a collaborative, inclusive leadership style.
- High levels of accountability, curiosity and customer focus.
- You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
