Te tūranga - The role

As the Data Engineer you will be responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancement of systems that support storage, processing, and retrieval of the Bank's data products.

In this role you will be supporting the delivery of two brand new data collections, working alongside experienced senior engineers. Post-delivery your role will include implementing changes, resolving defects, applying upgrades, and adding new data to meet evolving business needs.

Day to day you will work closely with colleagues across the Operations Group to evolve the data engineering practice using appropriate frameworks and tools and consistently applying these to daily work.

Ō pūkenga - About you

To succeed in this role, you'll be an experienced Data Engineer with;

  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, including normalised and dimensional models techniques.
  • Skilled in SQL, Snowflake, dbt, and end-to-end ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience in Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting analytics and reporting platforms, including enabling curated datasets for tools such as Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps methodologies, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including build and deployment across environments.
