Are you an experienced people leader who can combine strong payroll knowledge with a clear focus on customer service, team development and continuous improvement?
We're looking for a Payroll Manager to lead our payroll function and ensure payroll services are delivered in a way that is timely, accurate, compliant and responsive to the needs of our people across the IHC Group and its subsidiaries.
This is a pivotal people leadership role within our Corporate Services team. You'll create clarity for the team, coach and develop people, strengthen service standards, oversee the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process, and ensure compliance with New Zealand payroll legislation.
You'll also play a key role in building a positive, values-led team culture, improving how payroll works with managers and employees, maintaining payroll integrity, supporting payroll system enhancements, and leading practical continuous improvement initiatives.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
Technical
- New Zealand payroll experience in a high-volume payroll environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll-related legislation, including the Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act, KiwiSaver and taxation requirements.
- Experience managing end-to-end payroll processing, payroll reporting, audits, and compliance activities.
- Strong systems capability with experience using payroll software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and payroll data analysis.
Leadership & Personal
- Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to create clarity, coach, mentor and develop team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels and strengthen the customer experience of payroll services.
- A values-led, customer-focused and collaborative approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and practical problem solving.
