Due to an internal promotion, we’re looking for a Parcels Manager to lead the day-to-day performance of our Christchurch Parcels operation. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll keep freight moving safely and efficiently, support your team to deliver, and make sure operational standards are consistently met.

About The Role - Mō Te Tūranga

You’ll play an important role in the site leadership team, working closely with Transport, Customer Service, Claims and other operational leaders to deliver strong service outcomes for our customers.

You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Leading daily Parcels operational planning and execution
  • Managing freight flow, labour deployment and operational priorities
  • Driving performance across service, safety, productivity and quality measures
  • Coaching, supporting and developing team members to build capability and accountability
  • Reinforcing strong communication routines and clear expectations across the team
  • Ensuring operational processes are followed, including scanning, labelling, endorsements and DG requirements
  • Identifying safety risks, hazards and compliance issues, ensuring corrective action is taken
  • Partnering with Transport, Customer Service, Claims and site leaders to support DIFOT outcomes
  • Providing clear operational updates and contribute to site leadership routines

You're a hands-on operational leader who understands the pace and complexity of a parcels environment and enjoys being close to the operation, leading from the floor and building a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.

You’ll Also Bring

  • Proven leadership experience within a parcels, courier or time-critical freight operation
  • The ability to lead people, manage competing priorities and drive operational performance
  • A practical understanding of operational KPIs and scanning compliance
  • A strong focus on safety, service and continuous improvement
  • A clean Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence
  • DG and OSH Forklift licences, or willingness to obtain them
