Estimator / Quantity Surveyor – Residential Construction

Treasure Homes is seeking an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our residential construction estimating team in Auckland.

Treasure Homes is an established residential construction company with over 10 years’ experience, specialising in land development, terrace housing and residential building projects. We work with homeowners, developers, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to deliver clear, practical and well-managed construction solutions.

This role sits within our estimating team and is primarily focused on pre-construction estimating, tender pricing, client communication and scope clarification. It is not a purchasing or day-to-day material ordering role.

About the role

You will be involved in preparing and supporting residential construction estimates and quotations, with responsibilities including:

• Reviewing architectural, structural, civil and consultant documentation;
• Completing quantity takeoffs and assisting with cost estimates;
• Preparing tender pricing, quotation documents and pricing breakdowns;
• Communicating with clients regarding pricing, scope, exclusions and project requirements;
• Requesting, reviewing and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations;
• Assisting with scope clarification, value engineering and pricing queries;
• Maintaining clear, accurate and well-organised estimating information.

This is a client-facing role, so strong communication skills and a professional approach are essential.

About you

The ideal candidate will have

• A background in construction, quantity surveying, estimating or a related field;
• Experience or strong interest in residential construction, terrace housing or land development projects;
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients;
• Fluent Mandarin and/or Cantonese;
• Good ability to read and interpret construction drawings;
• Strong attention to detail and a good understanding of numbers;
• Good time management and the ability to work to deadlines;
• Proficiency in Excel and PlanSwift. Experience with MS Project would be an advantage.

Previous residential construction estimating experience would be highly regarded. However, we are also open to candidates with the right attitude, strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
