Medical Receptionist - The Doctors Tikipunga

We are looking for a friendly, organised and professional Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated team. As the first point of contact for our practice, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive outstanding service while supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of our busy medical centre. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

About the Role Your responsibilities will include

• Welcoming patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner.
• Managing appointment bookings and clinician schedules.
• Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls appropriately.
• Registering new patients and maintaining accurate patient records.
• Processing patient payments and balancing daily transactions.
• Managing incoming correspondence and administrative tasks.
• Supporting the clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Providing a positive patient experience while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

About You -

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding customer service with a genuine passion for helping people.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• The ability to remain calm, adaptable and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
• Experience using patient management systems, particularly Med Tec Evolution (or similar), is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a medical reception or healthcare administration role is preferred.
• Knowledge of ACC processes, patient enrolment, recall systems, referrals and the New Zealand primary healthcare environment will be viewed favourably.
• A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
