About The Role

We're looking for an Intermediate Full Stack Software Engineer with 3 years of experience across frontend and backend development to join Tourwriter on a 1-year fixed-term contract. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and Product to design, build, and maintain features that deliver real value to our customers.

What you'll do

Full Stack Development

• Design, develop, and maintain features across the frontend and backend
• Build intuitive, high-quality user interfaces
• Develop backend services using Node.js and PostgreSQL
• Design and maintain APIs and integrations with external systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Work closely with Product to turn requirements into practical solutions

AI-Augmented Engineering

• Use AI tools as part of daily development
• Critically evaluate AI-generated code and suggestions
• Improve speed and quality across coding, reviewing, and testing
• Identify opportunities to apply AI to improve team productivity
• Share AI knowledge and techniques with the team

Platform and Quality

• Contribute to system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Support production issues and drive them to resolution
• Contribute to testing, automation, and CI/CD improvements
• Help reduce technical debt through refactoring and improvements
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

Our ideal candidate will have

• Commercial experience developing with JavaScript and Node.js
• Experience developing modern, responsive frontend applications using React
• Experience working with REST APIs, WebSockets, and backend services
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms, including infrastructure as code principles
• Good understanding of software engineering principles and clean code practices
• Experience using AI tools to support software development
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
