Quantity Surveyor

Fulton Hogan

About the role

We're looking for a Project Controls team member to support our Civil North Minor Works team.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, this role is all about helping projects run with strong cost, commercial and programme discipline from the ground up.

You'll work across estimating, project delivery and commercial controls, supporting minor works with the same serious standards we bring to major infrastructure.

This is a role for someone who knows how to keep projects moving, spot risks early, and back good decisions with solid data. Good Work here means low ego, high expectations, and being part of a team that backs each other to deliver.

Key role responsibilities

  • Support project controls across the Civil North Minor Works team, including cost, forecast and performance tracking.
  • Assist with estimating, budgeting and commercial reporting across a range of civil works.
  • Build and maintain project controls processes, including schedule, cost and change management support.
  • Work closely with project, commercial and operational teams to identify risks, manage issues and keep delivery on track.
  • Provide commercial support across clients including NZTA, Watercare and Auckland Council.

We're looking for someone with

  • NZQS or a similar quantity surveying qualification.
  • Around 2-5 years' relevant experience, including 1-2 years in estimating and 2-3 years in major projects and/or heavy civils.
  • Commercial experience working with clients such as NZTA, Watercare and Auckland Council or similar.
  • Around 2-3 years' experience using CCS.
  • Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and a practical, team-focused approach to delivery.

Good work, good benefits

At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.

You'll have access to:

  • KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones, up to 7%.
  • Fuel discount card
  • Parental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support
  • Family scholarships
  • Ongoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities
  • Great discounts at a wide range of retailers
  • Medical insurance "an eligibility period applies"
  • Life insurance
  • Medical insurance and Life insurance after the eligibility period.

At Fulton Hogan, Good Work is about more than what we build. It's how we show up, how we treat each other, and how we keep moving forward together. We're flat, friendly and practical. We take the work seriously, not ourselves.

Our people are out there creating, connecting and caring for communities across New Zealand. We back smart ideas, support each other to grow, and hold high standards where it counts. If you want to be part of a team that's low ego, forward moving and up for a challenge, you'll fit right in.
