Te āheinga | The Opportunity

As the Project Manager - New Business for Linfox in New Zealand, you will play a pivotal role in our growth agenda. Working as 2IC to the National Business Development Manager, you will lead the tender and RFP responses that win new business - partnering closely with our Business Development, Commercial and Operations teams to turn complex customer requirements into compelling, winning proposals across warehousing and transport.

Operating cross-functionally, this role is the operational engine of our New Zealand business development function. You will own the analytical and administrative heavy-lifting of the bid process, bring structure and discipline to the pipeline, and free up the National Manager to focus on customers and growth. It is also a genuine succession pathway into the National Business Development Manager role over time.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key Responsibilities

  • Leading end-to-end tender and RFP responses, from qualification through to submission
  • Producing detailed, high-quality written responses and company capability documentation
  • Partnering with Commercial and Finance on pricing and commercial inputs for each bid
  • Coordinating inputs across Commercial, Warehousing and Transport to validate feasibility and shape the solution
  • Preparing tender packs and submissions and managing bid timelines to deadline
  • Translating customer requirements into viable, differentiated logistics solutions across warehousing and transport
  • Conducting analysis to support the New Zealand business development strategy and the prioritisation of opportunities
  • Developing and standardising business development and bid processes and best practice
  • Managing and improving the end-to-end stage-gate process for the business development pipeline
  • Coordinating gate reviews, documentation, and governance outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline data, reporting, and insights
  • Maintaining a forward, multi-year view of the New Zealand tender pipeline
  • Attending customer meetings and site visits alongside the National Manager, and representing Linfox authentically in every interaction

Ō pūkenga | About You

You are a sharp, analytical operator with a background in business development support, bid/tender management or project management in a B2B environment. Logistics experience is an advantage but not essential - what matters most is that you are commercially minded, operationally aware, a strong writer, and genuinely motivated to represent Linfox and win. You are comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and building relationships that grow over time.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate

  • Experience in business development support, bid/tender management or project management within a B2B environment
  • Logistics or supply chain experience preferred but not essential; strong transferable B2B experience welcomed
  • A commercial background or exposure - for example pricing, cost modelling or pipeline governance (highly desirable)
  • An operational mindset - able to genuinely understand logistics operations and customer needs
  • Strong analytical, lateral-thinking and planning skills, with excellent written communication for RFP-quality responses
  • The ability to manage multiple bids, timelines and stakeholders to deadline
  • Confidence engaging with senior leaders and customer representatives
  • Ability to develop and implement standardised processes and governance frameworks
