Structural Steel Contractors (Welders & Riggers) - Auckland

About the Opportunity

Pasifiki Engineering Limited is expanding its network of skilled structural steel subcontractors to support upcoming projects across Auckland.

We are seeking experienced

1. Structural Steel Welders / Fabricators

Key Responsibilities

• Site welding and structural steel fabrication (FCAW / MIG / MMAW)
• Welding structural steel beams, columns, bracing, and connections
• Reading and interpreting engineering and workshop drawings
• Steel preparation, cutting, modification, and finishing
• Maintaining high safety and quality standards on active construction sites

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years structural steel welding/fabrication experience
• Current welding qualifications (AS/NZS 2980, ISO 9606 or equivalent)
• Own welding equipment and PPE
• Ability to work from drawings
• Site Safe Passport / ConstructSafe preferred

2. Structural Steel Riggers

Key Responsibilities

• Safe lifting, positioning, and installation of structural steel members
• Rigging and dogging operations on construction sites
• Working with cranes, lifting equipment, and installation crews
• Assisting with steel erection and alignment
• Following lifting plans, SWMS, and site safety requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years structural steel rigging experience
• Current Dogman/Rigger certification (where applicable)
• Experience with structural steel erection
• Own tools and PPE
• Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
• Site Safe Passport / ConstructSafe preferred

Contractor Requirements (Both Roles)

• Registered subcontractor, company, or self-employed contractor
• Valid right to work in New Zealand
• Public Liability Insurance (required)
• Own tools, equipment, and compliant PPE
• Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol screening
• Ministry of Justice background check
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality compliance
