The opportunity - Te tūranga

As Content & Growth Strategist in our Revenue team, you will be responsible for developing and leading sponsorships, integration and partnerships across TVNZ content and platforms, while working closely with the GM Growth & Partnerships to strengthen TVNZ's trade presence, deliver priority growth projects and build new audience opportunities through technology, data and market-led innovation.

Your focus in this role will be

  • Capture demand of high priority briefs from Agencies and Clients.
  • Create demand opportunities leveraging TVNZ content, platforms and brands by collaborating with Sales, Integration and Marketing teams on annual plans and initiatives to deliver Sales revenue targets with identified stretch targets for growth.
  • Develop strong relationships with media agency strategy teams and key clients to identify client challenges and create demand-led solutions.
  • Lead the programme of thought leadership and market communications for TVNZ, ensuring the trade market clearly understands TVNZ's audience, platform, content and outcomes story.
  • Partner with the GM Growth & Partnerships, Marketing, Sales and Communications to build and maintain a strong trade presence across agency and client engagement, trade press, events, webinars, research updates and sales materials.
  • Use consumer, customer and commercial insights to provide recommendations on strategic initiatives for customers and growth projects.
  • Understand how New Zealand, New Zealanders and the media industry are changing and make recommendations on how customers can take advantage of TVNZ platforms, data and content. What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei To be successful in this role we are looking for the following · Understanding of social, digital, and linear media and how integrated campaigns work from a channel and content planning perspective.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with Nielsen reporting tools advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and rapport quickly at all levels.
  • Analytical skills to interpret and use research and data.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop and lead thought leadership, trade communications and market engagement programmes.
  • Strong commercial understanding of growth projects, new audience development and revenue pipeline.
  • Confidence using technology, data and audience insights to shape scalable opportunities, including SMB and emerging advertiser segments.
  • Dedicated to providing the highest product and services, which meet the needs and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Attention to detail, good proof-reading skills and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in media or communications industries.
  • Strong business experience preferably in Advertising and/or Marketing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the NZ media market and competitors.
  • Extensive media strategy and planning experience.
  • Experience in briefing and leveraging insights to shape partnership opportunities.
  • Lateral and creative thinking.
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty.
