Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Senior Construction and Quality Supervisor to lead construction, remedial, and minor project works across our managed sites throughout the Hawke's Bay region. Reporting directly to the Internal Delivery Manager , you will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction, maintenance, and remedial works across multiple client sites.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved scopes, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits, and practical completion assessments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Supervisors and site teams.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and trades to ensure compliance with BGIS standards and contractual requirements.
- Promote a strong Health, Safety & Environment culture through proactive leadership and site engagement.
- Identify project risks, scope variations, and commercial opportunities while maintaining accurate reporting and documentation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Education, Experience & Skills Essential
- Demonstrated experience supervising construction, remedial, or building projects.
- Strong understanding of New Zealand building practices, construction sequencing, and quality assurance.
- Sound knowledge of NZ Building Codes, industry standards, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, multiple work fronts, and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams or delivering complex construction projects.
- Current Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
Desirable
- Trade qualification or construction-related tertiary qualification.
- Site Safe (or equivalent) Health & Safety training.
- Leadership or Project Management qualification.
- Experience working within Facilities Management or Government service contracts.
- Experience in quality audits, defect management, and live operational environments.
Workplace Flexibility
This role is primarily based across client sites throughout Hawke's Bay , with a combination of office and field-based work. Flexibility is offered in line with operational requirements and business needs.
