ACC New Zealand

Use your orthopaedic expertise in a different way

  • Continue clinical practice alongside the role

  • Flexible location and working arrangements
  • We are open to discussing hours that work for you

Have you ever wanted to use your orthopaedic expertise beyond the operating theatre while maintaining professional challenge, flexibility and impact?

ACC is seeking experienced Vocationally Registered Orthopaedic Surgeons to join our Clinical Services team as Medical Advisors.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your clinical judgement and specialist expertise to complex injury, treatment and rehabilitation decisions that help injured New Zealanders achieve better outcomes.

Many of our Medical Advisors continue clinical practice alongside their ACC role. Whether you are looking to complement your current practice, reduce on-call commitments, broaden your professional experience, or transition towards a portfolio career, this role offers flexibility without stepping away from orthopaedics.

We recognise that experienced surgeons often have existing professional commitments. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements and welcome conversations about how this role could fit alongside your current practice.
