We’re looking for a Renewals Engineer to join our IDC Waikato team. This is a hands-on role that blends planning, coordination and field delivery, with roughly 30% office-based work and 70% out in the field.
You’ll work closely with the Renewals Manager and operational teams to plan, schedule and deliver maintenance and renewals activities that are safe, efficient and high quality. It’s a role for someone who likes variety, backs themselves to solve problems, and wants to do Good Work that keeps our network moving.
You’ll be trusted to build strong working relationships, keep programmes on track, and help lift performance across safety, quality, productivity and delivery.
Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities
Plan, scope and support the delivery of renewals and maintenance activities to meet programme, quality and KPI requirements.
Prepare job packs, support temporary traffic management planning, and contribute to risk assessment, claims and pricing for measure and value or emergency works.
Carry out field-based activities including job measurement, site inspections, subcontractor audits, quality assurance reviews and data collection.
Work closely with operational teams, quality functions, customers and key stakeholders to keep work well coordinated and delivered on time.
Champion safe, compliant and efficient work practices, while looking for smarter ways to improve delivery and outcomes.

A BE, NZCE, diploma in engineering, or significant relevant industry experience.
At least 5 years’ experience in road maintenance, renewals or capital projects.
A current Class 1 driver licence.
Strong planning, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work side by side with crews, subcontractors and stakeholders.
A practical, proactive and safety-focused approach, with pride in doing good work and getting the details right.
