About the team

The Talent and Capability team is a centre of excellence within our People Division. We design and deliver organisation-wide programmes and services that help Transpower attract, retain, develop and engage a diverse, capable and high-performing workforce.

Our work spans talent acquisition, workforce planning, remuneration, job evaluation, HR data insights, leadership and capability development, early careers, diversity and inclusion, culture and engagement, and non-technical learning and development.

The opportunity – a 12-month fixed term contract due to project backfill. 20 hours per week!

Gain exposure to a broad range of remuneration, job evaluation and people analytics activity in a nationally significant organisation. Working closely with our Remuneration and Workforce Planning Manager and Senior Data Analyst, you’ll prepare remuneration analysis, support annual and mid-year remuneration review processes, maintain accurate remuneration-related data and documentation, and provide advice within established frameworks.

You’ll also build depth in Korn Ferry job evaluation, working with stakeholders to understand roles, prepare evaluation rationales, participate in moderation discussions, and maintain accurate records.

  • support remuneration review activity, including analysis, recommendations, communications and reporting
  • apply remuneration frameworks to assess pay positioning, internal relativities and equity considerations
  • participate in external remuneration surveys, including data validation and submission
  • conduct Korn Ferry job evaluations and preparing supporting documentation
  • maintain job evaluation, position and remuneration data so it remains accurate, current and useful
  • contribute to continuous improvement across HR data, remuneration and related processes.

What will you bring?

Excellent understanding of remuneration frameworks and analysis. You utilise well developed communication skills, a strong analytical mindset, sound judgement, and work with confidential information carefully and professionally. You love using data to support decisions and know how to present information clearly for managers, HR colleagues and other stakeholders. Your mahi is underpinned by excellent time management, prioritisation and expectation management ability.

Your CV and cover letter will demonstrate

  • a relevant tertiary qualification, Korn Ferry job evaluation training, and practical experience applying the methodology
  • at least two years’ experience in remuneration analysis, remuneration processes and reporting
  • intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, strong numerical capability, and good attention to detail
  • confidence working with systems, e.g. HRIS, payroll or remuneration
  • clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information in a way that suits the audience
