About the role
We're looking for a Technical Accounting Manager to join our Quality & Ethics team in Auckland.
In this role, you'll provide technical accounting and financial reporting support to audit and advisory teams across New Zealand. You'll research and analyse complex accounting matters, review financial statements, develop technical guidance and training, and work closely with stakeholders across the business to promote quality and consistency in our client engagements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys technical accounting, solving challenging problems, and making an impact beyond a traditional client-facing role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on GAAP, NZ IFRS and PBE Standards
- Support engagement teams with complex accounting treatments and reporting decisions
- Review financial statements and disclosures for quality and compliance
- Develop and maintain model financial statements, templates, and technical resources
- Deliver training and guidance to uplift capability across the network
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality & Ethics team
- Build strong relationships across teams, acting as a trusted technical partner
Experience & Attributes
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards (NZ IFRS, PBE, GAAP)
- Experience at Manager level in audit, or within a technical accounting/reporting role
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, practical advice
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail with sound judgement and decision-making
- A collaborative, values-led approach with a focus on quality and integrity
- CA qualified (or equivalent)
