Digital Lead - Contract role
Our client is looking to hire a Digital Lead who will be responsible for managing a cross-functional digital team, overseeing transitional service agreements, establishing governance, and aligning future digital strategy with board and external stakeholder expectations. This will be a Wellington based contract role till December 2026 with a possible extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Digital Workstream: Direct all digital initiatives and workstreams leading up to the official launch/commencement date of the new entity.
- People Management: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary digital team
- Manage Transition Agreements: Oversee the relationship with the parent organization and digital teams
- Transition-Out Planning: Lead the development and execution of the "transition out" schedule to ensure operational independence.
- Implement Digital Governance: Establish clear governance frameworks
- Board & Executive Reporting: Manage expectations and provide strategic digital updates directly to the Board of Directors and key executive stakeholders.
Successful candidates will have...
- Proven experience as a Programme Lead / Manager in complex environments
- Ability to lead technical delivery team
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- High attention to detail with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset
- Strong working knowledge of Digital systems in public sector
- Experience in Central agencies or Crown entities will be desirable
