About The Mahi (Role)

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic

Occupational Therapist to join our Invercargill team in a part-time or full-time, permanent role.

We welcome applications from both experienced clinicians and new graduates who are ready to kick-start their careers.

Based in the beautiful Southland region, you will be part of a strong, supportive interdisciplinary team.

You will manage a diverse caseload across clinic, vocational, hospital, and community settings. The role offers flexibility and can be shaped to suit your interests.

Your mahi may include:

  • Concussion
  • Pain Management
  • Integrated Care Pathways (ICP)
  • Training for Independence
  • Social Rehab Needs Assessments
  • Early Intervention Services
  • Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Manual Handling

In addition to client assessments and delivering tailored, evidence-based treatment plans, you will collaborate with funders, employers, and colleagues, maintain accurate clinical records, and engage in team development and ongoing learning.

About The Invercargill Team

The TBI Health Invercargill team is a skilled group of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists based centrally near Queen’s Park and local cafes.

We have a friendly, social culture with regular team activities and a shared passion for quality healthcare.

We are committed to equity, continually enhancing cultural capability and building strong relationships with Māori health providers and local iwi.

About You

We welcome applications from Occupational Therapists of all experience levels who share our vision and values and bring a positive, can-do attitude. Comprehensive orientation, training, and support will be provided.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or higher qualification
  • A current New Zealand practicing certificate
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • A full, clean driver’s licence
  • A genuine interest in rehabilitation
  • Commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing professional development
  • Strong clinical reasoning and clear report-writing skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
