About Pact

At Pact, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a meaningful, connected life.

We are a leading provider of community, vocational, and residential support across New Zealand. We support people with intellectual disabilities, mental health and addiction challenges, and young people, to reach their goals and build independence. Our passionate team walks alongside individuals, empowering them to thrive in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.

About the Role

If you’re located in Greymouth, enjoy a challenge, and have experience (professional or lived) supporting people with complex needs, we’d love to hear from you.

We currently have casual positions available (as and when required), offering a wide variety of day, evening, weekend, awake‑night, and sleepover shifts. Because this is a casual support work role, you’ll need to be comfortable picking up short‑notice shifts from time to time — perfect for someone who values flexibility and enjoys work that’s never the same two days in a row.

In this role, you will:

Support personal goals — walking alongside people as they build independence

Encourage community participation and meaningful daily routines

Provide practical assistance with wellbeing, routines, and skill‑building

Model positive behaviours that foster confidence, resilience, and hope

Keep clear, accurate documentation to support progress

And most importantly, help ensure the people you support feel valued, included, and able to have fun

Desired Skills and Experience

What You’ll Bring

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills

A positive attitude and calm approach in challenging situations

A genuine passion for helping others grow and succeed

A full driver’s licence and basic computer skills

A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 4 Mental Health) — or willingness to work toward one once you’re on board

The right to work in New Zealand

You must have availability to work weekends and evening shifts when needed

What Will Pact Offer You?

At Pact, you’ll be part of a supportive, down‑to‑earth team that cares equally about our staff as we do the people we support. We offer:

As part of our commitment to your professional development, you'll be supported to enrol in a recognised qualification after six months with us

A wide variety of work experiences across different services

$26.80–$31.47 per hour based on qualification

Long Service benefits to celebrate your milestones

Encouragement and support to achieve the NZQA Level 4 Qualification

Free Employee Assistance if you require additional, confidential support

The joy of watching people grow, achieve, and thrive

This role offers genuine variety, meaningful connection, and the chance to build a rewarding career.
