About the team

Our Inventory and Logistics team manages Transpower’s inventory, warehouse facilities and supporting analytics. The team helps ensure the right equipment, critical materials and services are available for maintenance and grid project delivery.

The opportunity – due to internal promotion!

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to support Strategic Procurement, Grid Delivery and Engineering. You’ll create and manage purchase orders in Maximo and FMIS, coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders, and support purchasing for maintenance and project delivery across the National Grid.

This is specialist, technically varied purchasing. You’ll be involved in long-lead items such as transformers, substation equipment, protection and communications materials, transmission line materials and cabling. You’ll also keep purchase orders moving, provide timely updates on project materials, support item coding and master data maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement across the Inventory and Purchasing function.

To be considered, your CV and cover letter will clearly demonstrate:

  • ~3 or more years’ purchasing or relevant industry experience
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay organised and follow through
  • Confidence using purchasing and finance systems, including reporting tools
  • Strong data, analysis and Microsoft Excel skills. Maximo would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication, customer service and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with suppliers, logistics, freight forwarders or inventory functions
