Digital Consultant

• Deliver high‑quality digital solutions for clients, applying a mix of project management, business analysis, and data analytics expertise to solve real‑world problems
• Work directly with clients as part of multi‑disciplinary teams, building trusted relationships, understanding complex needs, translating them into clear requirements, and delivering outcomes that fully meet expectations
• Contribute to client engagements, including solution design, delivery and continuous improvement
• Make a tangible difference by delivering digital services and projects that enhance our communities, cities, and regions

Our Digital team works with both external and internal clients, helping them solve complex and often unique problems to make everyday better. We use Beca’s century of experience in engineering, advisory and design to help our clients shape communities, optimise their assets and streamline their operations. We are seeing growth in demand for digital services, while accelerating our internal digital transformation, helping teams across the business to grow their market-led services and drive internal innovation. We work with clients to apply off-the-shelf platforms, Beca products, and tailored solutions to solve problems that make our digital consulting roles inspiring and unique.

Our Digital Consultant roles are varied, dynamic and rewarding. You will work with a motivated team of consultants with a wide range of skills and experience. In this role, digital consulting is less about having a traditional IT background and more about helping clients understand their challenges, shape practical digital solutions, and support teams to deliver change. You will apply your project management, business analysis, consulting, and solution delivery skills to help deliver digital projects in New Zealand and globally.

This role involves working on both our internal initiatives and external projects with our clients. Depending on your experience, you may contribute as part of a project team or take greater ownership of scoping, designing and delivering digital solutions. With a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork, you will be part of a passionate team with a strong culture of inclusion, coaching and support.

You will enjoy working across different projects, industries, and disciplines to develop and deliver solutions and new digital offerings. You will be comfortable working with clients and project teams to understand problems, create clarity, and explain how a digital approach can add value. You may already have experience in engineering and asset management, or you may be new to these industries and interested in growing your understanding of the opportunities and challenges our clients face.

You are curious, practical, and comfortable working in areas where the answer is not already defined. You enjoy asking good questions, working with others to create clarity, and connecting people, process, data, and technology to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients. You bring a strong passion for continuous learning, self-development, and professional growth.

• Around 5+ years of experience across any of the following across the digital domain: consulting, project delivery, business analysis, product ownership, data, technology, infrastructure, asset management, government, or another related field where you have helped teams solve complex problems and deliver practical outcomes.
• Strong relationship-building, facilitation, and communication skills
• Ability to translate between client needs, business requirements, and technical delivery teams
• Exposure to software delivery methods such as agile, waterfall, or hybrid delivery, or an interest in developing this capability
• Experience defining requirements at a business, user, or system level
• Experience with Microsoft, Esri, Autodesk, Bentley, or similar technology environments would be helpful, but is not essential
• Interest in engineering, infrastructure, asset management, or digital transformation, with curiosity and a learning mindset valued most
